PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE SCHEDULING
Scheduling for Parent/Teacher conferences on February 21st and March 1st are underway. An e-mail is preferred to ohs_parentconf@Olentangy.k12.oh.us which includes your childs name, grade, teacher(s) name you wish to conference with and best times you are available between 4:00 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. for 20 minute intervals. Conference scheduling may also be done by phone at (740)657-4107 and leaving a message with the above information as well as a phone number and best times to reach you. Phone conferences with teachers are also available.

STUDENT SERVICES
Get free help filing your FAFSA forms on College Goal Sunday, February 12th. The Delaware county location is Columbus State Delaware Campus. Register for the event at www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org or by phone to the Ohio Board of Regents at 1-800-233-6734. Flyers are available in Student Services.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT
In homeroom on Tuesday February 7th all students enrolled in an AP (Advanced Placement) course this year will receive a bulletin published by the College Board. We are asking all students to bring this bulletin home and share it with their parents. The bulletin details the AP testing process which will take place during the weeks of May 7th-11th and May 14th-18th. Please refer to this bulletin for the test schedule, and all policies and procedures. If there are any concerns, questions, or potential conflicts regarding AP testing for this school year please contact the appropriate guidance counselor as the order for AP testing needs to be completed by late February.

SERVICE CLUB MEMBERS
Send some Love! Valentines for Marines is today after school in Mrs. Shank’s room, 1414. Come and make valentines to be sent to those serving our country. We will be making valentines from 2:45 till 4:00. See you there!

HOMEROOM CHANGE
There will be homeroom TODAY, February 1st. All students will go directly to homeroom at 7:20. Late arrival students should arrive at 7:20 if they wish to attend the college signing for some of our student athletes.

BOYS TENNIS
There will be a Boys Tennis informational meeting this Thursday for anyone planning on playing in the spring. It will be held after school from 2:45 to 3:15 in Coach Luxenburger’s room, 1410.

Our Delaware Area Career Center liaison, Mrs. Reinhart, will be at OHS on February 2nd to answer your questions about admissions to the career center. Stop in Student Services to schedule an appointment.

The summer school course offerings are available in Student Services. Online registration for the courses is in the final stages of production and will be available on all of the secondary building web sites no later than 3.1.12.

Would you like to know more about the unique educational options available to your high school student? The Olentangy High Schools’ Guidance Departments will be hosting an Educational Options meeting on Thursday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the Orange High School auditorium. Course scheduling for next year is right around the corner and this meeting will provide a wealth of information about the many educational options that are available. Information about Marketing & Management, Mentorship I & II, Teacher Academy, Service Learning, the Delaware Area Career Center, Delaware County Air Force Junior ROTC, Advanced Placement courses, Dual-Enrollment and Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program will be discussed.

PARENT FORUM
Join the Olentangy Parent Programs Team and NBC4 for a very special forum: Raising Drug-Free Kids & Preventing Prescription Drug Abuse on Wednesday, February 8th at Orange High School 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Anchor Mindy Drayer and former OSU quaterback Craig Krenzel along with representatives from the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addition Services will be hosting. Free babysitting will be available.

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS
Want to use part of you school day to try out some career options? Mentorship, Teacher Academy and Service Learning let you take part of your school day to spend time learning outside of the traditional classroom setting. Pick up an application in Student Services or from Mrs. Shank, Apley or Ms. Kinser.

NHS MEMBERS
Wondering how you can earn your 4 required inside NHS service hours? Well, start cleaning out your closet! Gently used clothing will be collected before and after school by the showcase Feb. 7 – 10. You will earn 1 hour per large bag of clothing. Bring 4 big bags and earn all of the required inside service hours. Remember, you also need to earn 12 outside hours to maintain your membership. The next meeting will be in April to plan for the CF Walk.

The I CAN Center of Excellence at the Marion Campus of OSU is sponsoring an ACT workshop on Saturday, Feb. 4th from 9am to 4pm. Registration by Jan 30th for $45 or at the door for $60. Registration forms are available in Student Services.
