Hello Brave Parents,

One more reminder that we will begin our OHS Homecoming events this Wednesday. Tickets for our dance will go on sale tomorrow during all lunches.

Senior parents, please see the attached form regarding Senior Opportunity Day (Wednesday, October 12). We will be giving the PLAN test to our sophomores, and the PSAT to our juniors on this day. Freshmen will be on a 2.5 hour delay schedule, and will report to their first period class by 9:50 a.m.

Proud to be a Brave,

Tom McDonnell

ATTENTION OHS ALUMNI – We will be offering building tours (including a trip to Alumni Hall to look at your class composite) and the singing the alma mater at half time on the field.

Saturday, September 24th -
8:00 – 11:00 p.m. – Homecoming Dance –

Tickets must be purchased in school ($10 per ticket). Anyone who is not an OHS Student needs to have parent and administrative permission from their home school to attend the dance. ONLY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND OHS DANCES. We will be discussing the importance of “appropriate dance” with our students next week. Any student who does not dance in a tactful manner will be asked to leave (and they will be required to bring a parent chaperone to any future dance at OHS).

Any student who comes to a school function under the influence of drugs and alcohol is subject to the following consequences: 1) Suspension from school 2) The student, and his or her parents, will have a conversation with the Delaware County Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Lance Leonard is our School Resource Officer, and he is available every day to help our students and parents 3) There will be an athletic code of conduct violation if the student is an OHS athlete 4) Possible loss of leadership within athletics, clubs, or student organizations (such as NHS).

We do not plan on having any problems at our dance, or other homecoming events, however, we will be making our students aware that we have high expectations for them inside and outside of school.

I have mentioned a number of times to our students, parents, and anyone else who will listen, that we have a fantastic student body at OHS! We are, however, very concerned with their safety (as I know our parents are as well), and appreciate your continued support.
