SERVICE CLUB MEMBERS
Send some Love! Valentines for Marines is today after school in Mrs. Shank’s room, 1414. Come and make valentines to be sent to those serving our country. We will be making valentines from 2:45 till 4:00. See you there!

BOYS TENNIS
There will be a Boys Tennis informational meeting this Thursday for anyone planning on playing in the spring. It will be held after school from 2:45 to 3:15 in Coach Luxenburger’s room, 1410.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE SCHEDULING
Scheduling for Parent/Teacher conferences on February 21st and March 1st will be underway starting February 1st. An e-mail is preferred to ohs_parentconf@Olentangy.k12.oh.us which includes your childs name, grade, teacher(s) name you wish to conference with and best times you are available between 4:00 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. for 20 minute intervals. Conference scheduling may also be done by phone at (740)657-4107 and leaving a message with the above information as well as a phone number and best times to reach you. Phone conferences are also available.

Our Delaware Area Career Center liaison, Mrs. Reinhart, will be at OHS on February 2nd to answer your questions about admissions to the career center. Stop in Student Services to schedule an appointment.

The summer school course offerings are available in Student Services. Online registration for the courses is in the final stages of production and will be available on all of the secondary building web sites no later than 3.1.12.

The Olentangy High Schools’ Guidance Departments will be hosting an Educational Options meeting on Thursday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the Orange High School auditorium. Course scheduling for next year is right around the corner and this meeting will provide a wealth of information about the many educational options that are available. Information about Marketing & Management, Mentorship I & II, Teacher Academy, Service Learning, the Delaware Area Career Center, Delaware County Air Force Junior ROTC, Advanced Placement courses, Dual-Enrollment and Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program will be discussed.

PARENT FORUM
Join the Olentangy Parent Programs Team and NBC4 for a very special forum: Raising Drug-Free Kids & Preventing Prescription Drug Abuse on Wednesday, February 8th at Orange High School 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Anchor Mindy Drayer and former OSU quaterback Craig Krenzel along with representatives from the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addition Services will be hosting. Free babysitting will be available.

Mentorship, Teacher Academy and Service Learning let you take part of your school day to spend time learning outside of the traditional classroom setting. Pick up an application in Student Services or from Mrs. Shank, Apley or Ms. Kinser.

NHS MEMBERS
Wondering how you can earn your 4 required inside NHS service hours? Well, start cleaning out your closet! Gently used clothing will be collected before and after school by the showcase Feb. 7 – 10. You will earn 1 hour per large bag of clothing. Bring 4 big bags and earn all of the required inside service hours. Remember, you also need to earn 12 outside hours to maintain your membership. The next meeting will be in April to plan for the CF Walk.

Learn about the Olentangy Turf Committee!
The Olentangy Turf Committee, an organization of volunteer parents from Orange, Liberty and Olentangy High Schools is well into the process of raising the funds needed to place synthetic field turf at our three high schools by the fall 2012 school year. This private, volunteer effort is a great opportunity for our community to band together and provide support for this effort.

FAMILY PROMISE
Olenatngy Liberty DECA and Olive Garden are sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner before the Liberty vs. Olentangy boys basketball game this Friday, January 27 from 5 pm – 7 pm. All proceeds will go to Family Promise of Delaware County, an organization that helps local homeless families get back on their feet by providing shelter, counseling, food, and transportation. Both Liberty and Olentangy families are welcome and tickets can be bought at the door, students are $6 and adults are $10 in the Liberty Commons. Bring your family out to enjoy a great dinner and a great game. Help us as we strive to change lives, one family at a time.

The Annual Service Club Banquet is coming up! In order to attend, you must turn in 24 service hours by March 16th. To turn your hours in, send us an updated spreadsheet with your current service hours on it and then make sure you turn in your green sheets at the service club wall. DRAMA
Any students who had Mr. Hinds 1st semester should stop in to pick up their final exam project before Tuesday, January 24. They will be discarded after that date. ALL RUNNING CREWS need to be in rehearsal TODAY!

IN THE KNOW
OHS had three In the Know matches last Thursday. They creamed Buckeye Valley 385 to 125 and Westfall 365 to 110. The match was a nailbiter and depended upon the last question. Although a great match, Liberty won by 10 points 295 to 305. The last home match of the season is this Tuesday, January 24th at about 3:45 in room 1259. Come and support the team.

SPANISH CLUB MEMBERS
