Olentangy does not offer soccer for boys or girls at any of its middle schools. The district has found that demand for soccer at this level is relatively low because the Ohio High School Athletic Association provides for a much shorter season than those provided by club and travel teams. Another obstacle is the fact that few schools in the area have middle school soccer teams, meaning long travel times for any away games.

The National Spelling Bee program all begins at the individual school level.  In December, students in fifth through eighth grade will have the opportunity to compete in their individual school’s spelling bee.  Fifth grade students will compete in an oral bee while sixth through eighth grade students will complete a written test.  The top two spellers from each elementary school and the top four from each middle school will then advance to the districtwide spelling bee, which is held in February.  The top student from the district bee is then eligible to participate in the Sheridan WorldWise, Inc. Regional Spelling Bee.
