Olentangy does not offer transportation to and from daycare centers. However, many local daycare providers offer their own transportation. If you are interested in this option, it is best to contact the daycare providers in your neighborhood to see if they offer this service.

Everyday, Olentangy bus drivers complete a 50-point safety inspection of each bus before it is taken out on the road.  If even one aspect of this check is not up to the district’s high standards, then the bus is not used until the issue is resolved.  In addition, regular maintenance is completed, including brake checks, every 90 days.  However, even with all of this maintenance and safety checks it is very possible that residents will still hear some noises.  This is because school buses today use increased amounts of metal materials in the brake linings.  When the linings get hot, combined with the hot brake drums, a loud screeching noise is produced.  Noisy brakes on buses and trucks are a common occurrence and do not necessarily indicate a problem with the brakes.
