Can anyone tell us when the school on Berlin Station Road is scheduled to begin construction and the anticipated opening date of said school?

The Berlin Station Road site has been set aside for the district’s fourth high school, if it is needed.  At this time the district is researching alternatives to incurring the costs associated with building an additional high school. If the fourth high school is built, it would require a the district to ask voters for approval of a bond issue and then approximately two and a half years of construction.  At this time there are no immediate plans to bring that bond issue to voters.

When is kindergarten registration for 2012-13?

Olentangy will hold kindergarten registration for the 2012-13 school year shortly after concluding the current elementary redistricting process.  The redistricting process is needed because Heritage Elementary School (HES) will transition from a kindergarten-only building to a traditional elementary building (housing grades kindergarten through five) for the 2012-13 school year.

A committee of 55 Olentangy residents has been researching attendance boundary options throughout the month of January.  The community is invited to follow their work online at www.dejongrichter.com/projects/olsd/.  All residents are also invited to attend a community dialogue about redistricting on Tuesday, January 24 at 7 p.m. at the Center for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware.

The redistricting process is expected to be complete in early February.  Families should continue to monitor district listserves and the website for dates and other registration information.  For any other registration questions, please call the New Student Welcome Center at (740) 657-4030 or click here.
