Boys Volleyball

The boys volleyball team has clinched an OCC Championship with their win over Jerome this Tuesday.  The 14-2 Patriots will try to go undefeated in the league this Thursday at home for senior night against Westerville Central.  Come out and support the team!

Girls Tennis

There will be a Girls Tennis meeting on Monday, May 21st, at 7:00pm in the study hall room (1201).

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet on Thursday before school in the health room. 

Everyone is welcome at FCA.  You do not need to be involved in a sport to attend.

Seniors

The Olentangy Liberty High School Class of 2012 Baccalaureate Service is scheduled for Thursday evening, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Liberty Presbyterian Church.  Baccalaureate is a church service for you, your classmates, and family to celebrate your upcoming graduation.  At this time we are looking for seniors who would like to participate and/or help plan the service.  Many roles need to be filled including singers, musicians, greeters, ushers, readers, etc.  If you want to participate and/or help plan your Baccalaureate Service, the planning meeting scheduled for Sunday, May 13th at 4:00 pm in the health room.  If you have any questions please see John Gingrich, Mr. Myers, or Mrs. Chapman.

Olentangy Liberty High School Girls Golf – Informational Meeting

There will be an informational meeting on Monday April 30th at 5:30 pm in the LHS Commons.  Please come to learn about schedules and plans for the upcoming fall season.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in being a part of the girls golf program, please contact Chelsea Ross (Varsity coach) at chelsea_ross@olentangy.k12.oh.us 

Ping Pong Club

Ping Pong Club will meet this Friday in the Commons from 3-4.  Only the first 20 people with their liability forms filled out will be able to sign up for a spot to play.  See Profe Walker to hand in your forms and sign up in room 2127.  See you then.

Pasta Dinner to Support OLHS Marching Band

Olentangy Education Foundation (OEF) sponsors annual staffcommendation program

Are you looking for a unique way to show your appreciation and acknowledge an Olentangy staff member who has contributed to making your child’s year special or successful?  Olentangy Education Foundation (OEF) sponsors an annual district-wide staff commendation program to thank Olentangy staff members.  Consider recognizing a staff member with a commendation this year. In addition, you may make a donation in the name of those staff members who have made a difference.  Donations will be help fund OEF grants and scholarships awarded annually.  Gifts of any amount are appreciated.  All honorees and the superintendent will be notified of the commendation.  For more information about the program, to make a commendation and/or to make an online donation please go to: http://olentangyeducationfoundation.org/commendation.html.  The deadline to receive commendations is May 11, 2012.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email kristasdavis@gmail.com.

Girls Volleyball

Attention any girls interested in playing volleyball next year, there will be an informational meeting in the Health Room on Wednesday, April 18th.  There will be two times you can attend, either before school at 7am or after school at 2:50pm.

Items to be discussed are summer conditioning schedule, open gym schedule, summer league, summer tournaments and tryouts. Please plan on attending at one of these times.

Technology Students Earn Awards

This past weekend 34 students from Mr. Rathje and Mr Marinelli’s CAD, Architectural Drafting, Engineering and Woodworking classes had their work on display at the annual Technology and Engineering showcase in Granville, Ohio.  Projects were judged against projects from over a dozen other schools from around the state.  Seventeen students received “Award of Merit” ribbons for their work, three projects, a chess board by Brian Anichowski, a mini sumo robot by Carter Hurd, and a mousetrap powered vehicle by Michael Kalmar and Shilpa Murthy received second place ribbons, and Brian’s chess board also received a plaque for runner-up, best of show in the Manufacturing – Materials and Processes – Wood category.  All of these projects will be on display at this coming Sunday’s Arts Festival.  Congratulations to all of the participants for work well done.
