News and Announcements

On behalf of the Olentangy Orange Girls Volleyball team we would like to thank everyone who ordered banners for their graduates. As you know every little bit helps. Banners will be ready for pickup on May 17-18 between 4:30-6:30 pm. For more information or questions contact Regina Fordham at cincireg@gmail.com.

Would you like to have a DVD of the Class of 2012 graduation ceremony?  We will have a videographer at graduation taping the ceremony.  You can purchase a copy of this video for $15.00 each. Checks can be made out to OOHS.  Please complete the attached Senior Graduation DVD Order Form and return it with your $15.00 to Mrs. Nicholson in the main office at OOHS no later than May 18th.  The DVD will be mailed to your home around June 20th.

If your child has medication left in the clinic, please pick it up prior to the summer break.  Medication will be disposed of during June if prior arrangements are not made with clinic personnel.

As a reminder, new medication forms are required every school year.  A physician’s written order is required for any prescription medication at school, whether it is administered in the clinic or self-administered by the student.  Middle and high school students are permitted to carry and self-administer non-prescription medication with a signed parent consent form.  A physician’s form is required for non-prescription medication for elementary students.  Forms are available on the school website.  Click on the following link to access the appropriate form.

If your child requires diabetic care, an inhaler, and/or emergency treatment for an allergy, you may also access the forms online at the same location.  School personnel are not permitted to give expired medication; therefore, be aware of the expiration dates of all medication.

Please contact the school office or clinic staff if you have any questions.

Do you want to know about the swimming pool coming to Olentangy school district? Do you want to know how you can help bring this pool into our school district? Do you want to get involved ? There is an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 22 at 7pm at OOHS Auditorium to discuss the status of this project. This meeting is open to all Olentangy school swim parents and future swim parents.

For the upcoming ACT Quality Core testing on Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 22, students may leave school after their last scheduled test. In order to be dismissed early, each student must bring a note signed by his/her parent approving the early dismissal for each day and receive a colored ticket to leave for each day from the attendance office.  Students need only give their ticket at the door to leave each day, students DO NOT need to sign out in attendance.  We will be on a regular bell schedule starting May 23.

Senior Final Exams

May 29 is scheduled for senior exams.  This day will be a regular school day for the rest of the student body.  Seniors will take their exams during their regular scheduled class.  Seniors are only excused if they are exempt from an exam by using the attached criteria.   A senior only has to be here if they have an exam.  However, once a senior is here they can’t leave until they complete their last exam for the day.  For example if Pioneer Pete has an exam period 2 and doesn’t have an exam until 6/7, he must stay in school.  Also, if Pioneer Pete doesn’t have an exam until 5/6, he doesn’t have to come to school until period 5/6.

Final exams for underclassmen will be June 1,4 & 5.  Attached you will find the schedule for Final Exams and an information sheet pertaining to attendance on exam days.  If you have any questions, please call the main office 740-657-5100.
