Olentangy Local Schools is proud to announce that 242 members of the classes of 2009 and 2010 have earned 2009 AP Scholar Awards in recognition of exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Approximately 18 percent of the nearly 1.7 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to earn an AP Scholar Award.

Districtwide 115 students earned the AP Scholar Award. This honor is given to students who receive grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

Forty-six Olentangy students earned the AP Scholar with Honor Award. This honor is given to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Eighty-one Olentangy students earned the AP Scholar with Distinction Award. This honor is given to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. Eight of the Olentangy students who qualified for this honor also qualified as National AP Scholars. These students received an average grade of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
