Olentangy Students Earn Perfect Scores

Nine Olentangy high school students earned perfect scores on one or more sections of the Ohio Graduation Test during the spring administration of that assessment. Across the state, just 0.03 percent of students who took the OGT earned a perfect score on the reading test, 0.24 percent earned a perfect score on the math test and 0.08 percent earned a perfect score on the social studies test.

Olentangy High Schools Among Top Six Percent in the Country

Olentangy High School (OHS) and Olentangy Liberty High School (OLHS) were named among the best high schools in America by Newsweek for the fifth consecutive year. Only six percent of all American public high schools were included on the 2010 list.

Olentangy Recognizes Teachers and Classified Employees

The Olentangy Local School District honored 25 teachers and classified staff members today for earning Teacher and Employee of the Year award honors. Twenty of the district’s 1,026 teachers were selected as the Teacher of the Year for their individual school. From this pool of candidates, Tracy Halpin at Olentangy Liberty Middle School (OLMS) was selected as the overall District Teacher of the Year for the 2009-10 school year. Haplin is an Intervention Specialist in a specialized learning center who has been with the district for seven years.

Chamber Names Students ‘Citizens of the Year’

The Powell Chamber of Commerce has named three Olentangy High School (OHS) students Citizens of the Year. These students were selected for their hard work creating the chamber’s Facebook page and for offering other social media guidance. [Read more…]

OLSD Students Selected for Statewide Gifted Program

Two Olentangy students have been selected for the 2010 class of the Martin W. Essex School for the Gifted. These students will join 38 other students from across the state for this prestigious summer program.

OHS Presents Oklahoma!

Olentangy High School (OHS) will present the musical Oklahoma! at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24. There will be a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 25. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Olentangy Rewards Card members will be admitted for free. To reserve your seats call (740) 657-4191.

OLHS Presents Grease

Olentangy Liberty High School (OLHS) theater students will perform Grease at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 30; Saturday, May 1; Friday, May 7; and Saturday, May 8. A special 2 p.m. family matinee on Sunday, May 2 will include a 1950’s costume contest and a sing-a-long. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students. Olentangy Rewards Card members will be admitted for free. To reserve seats call (740) 657-4291. Tickets can also be purchased during special preview performances at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing between 12:30 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.

OOHS Presents The Sound of Music

Olentangy Orange High School (OOHS) will present the musical The Sound of Music at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 29; Friday, April 30; and Saturday, May 1. There also will be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, May 1. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Olentangy Rewards Card members will be admitted for free.
