The Olentangy Local Schools Board of Education selected new leadership during their Organizational Meeting on January 13, 2009 by electing Julie Wagner Feasel as Board President and Teri Meider as Vice President.
Wagner Feasel was appointed to the board in September 2006 and was elected to fill the unexpired two-year term of Dimon McFerson in November 2007. Prior to her years on the board, Wagner Feasel served as President of the Olentangy High School Athletic Boosters, chair and/or volunteer of four redistricting committees, Olentangy for Kids chair and/or volunteer for five ballot issues and a member of the citizens advisory committee.
This is the third time Meider has been selected for a leadership position on the board. She previously served as vice president in 2006 and president from August 2006 through December 2007. Meider was first elected to the board in 2001 and is starting the fourth year of her second term.
In addition, January is School Board Recognition month. Each member of the board including the three other members: Scott Galloway, Dimon McFerson and Jennifer Smith, received a certificate of recognition in appreciation for all of their hard work. “Being a board member is more than just showing up to meetings,” said Interim Superintendent Jenny Hooie. “Each of you dedicates a lot of personal time to the students in this district and the issues that are facing this community and we want to recognize that service tonight.”
