Olentangy Local Schools is once again preparing for the opening of several new schools in the next few years by addressing existing attendance boundaries. This process is commonly known as redistricting.
This year, community focus groups will be used to provide specific community feedback related to draft redistricting plan(s). There will be two meetings for these groups in the evening on October 29 and November 5.
Four to six focus groups consisting of six to eight members per group for a total of 36 members (three per elementary attendance area) will be used for this process. This figure includes the appointment of several experienced members from past redistricting efforts. The remaining committee positions will be selected by lottery from a pool of community members who submitted applications before the posted October 17 deadline.
