Students at Olentangy Hyatts Middle School (OHMS) traded in their lab desks and notebooks for a swimming pool and scuba gear this month. Twenty-four students spent part of Friday, September 17 running experiments about density in the pool at the Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in scuba gear they rented from Aqua Gym. Participating in this hands-on learning experience supported several indicators in the physical science portion of the eighth-grade science curriculum.
- OHMS students learn about density while scuba diving.
- OHMS students try to lift a weight underwater.
- A student carries an egg on a spoon underwater.
