Third-grade student Samantha F. from Oak Creek Elementary School earned the grand prize at the 15th Annual Regional Invention Convention held Saturday, May 21 at COSI in Columbus. Samantha’s invention, “Super Bowling Shoes,” are shoe soles for bowling that fit right over your regular shoes. For her creativity and problem-solving skills Samantha was given the Edison Award and a $2,500 college scholarship.
In all 344 students from across central Ohio took part in the event. Six students were named first-place winners and awarded $500 scholarships. Fifty other students earned $50 savings bonds and nine of those students were from Olentangy. Congratulations to:
