Olentangy Liberty High School (OLHS) theater students hope to dance their way into the Guinness Book of World Records on Sunday, April 25 by leading at least 251 friends, relatives and community members in the hand jive dance. The day’s festivities will begin at 3 p.m., when the students stage a short preview performance of the musical Grease outside The Strand Theatre, 28 East Winter Street in Delaware. (Rain location to be determined.) Students will then teach the hand jive dance to the crowd, and the actual record-breaking attempt will begin at approximately 3:45 p.m.
The troupe will perform Grease at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 30; Saturday, May 1; Friday, May 7; and Saturday, May 8. A special 2 p.m. family matinee on Sunday, May 2 will include a 1950s costume contest and a sing-a-long. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
