Olentangy Local Schools has received a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant. The grant covers the cost of developing a School Travel Plan (STP), which includes an engineering study to make getting to and from school safer. After the travel plan is developed, the district could qualify for additional grants to make the safety improvements identified in the plan.
In order to identify the specific transportation issues facing Olentangy, the district is seeking input from residents who do not currently have a student enrolled in the district, especially those living in the Alum Creek Elementary School (ACES), Glen Oak Elementary School (GOES), Oak Creek Elementary School (OCES) and Tyler Run Elementary School (TRES) attendance areas. A short, voluntary survey will be available at the following link until Friday, June 19: http://survey.olentangy.k12.oh.us/survey/public_srts.htm.
Residents living in those attendance areas who currently have a student enrolled in the district were given an opportunity to provide input earlier this year.
