Olentangy Local Schools Superintendent, Wade Lucas, Ed.D., recently announced that at the April 28 Board of Education meeting, he will recommend current Olentangy Liberty High School (OLHS) Principal Mark Raiff to be employed as the Executive Director of Secondary Learning. This position is currently being filled by Dr. Mike Nicholson, who is resigning at the end of the 2009-10 school year to pursue other opportunities with Battelle for Kids.

“Mark is a dynamic leader who has had great success in his past positions both at Olentangy Local Schools and with other districts,” said Lucas. “I have every confidence that his personal history in this community and experience in leading high performing schools will result in even further achievement for all of our middle and high schools.”

Raiff has been with Olentangy Local Schools for seven years. He first served as the assistant principal at Olentangy High School (OHS) for three years and this is his fourth year at OLHS. Olentangy Local Schools will begin the search for a new principal at OLHS and hopes to name that person by the end of the 2009-10 school year.

“While I’m excited for my new opportunity,” said Raiff, “I’m sad to know that I won’t be working on a daily basis with the students, staff and parents at OLHS.”
