Olentangy Local Schools Superintendent, Wade Lucas, Ed.D. testified before the Ohio Senate Education Committee regarding Senate Bill (SB) 173 on Tuesday, October 20. SB 173 relates to provisions of House Bill (HB) 1 specifically dealing with Core Teachers and All-day Kindergarten.
Lucas spoke in favor of delaying the All-day Kindergarten requirements of HB 1 so that districts like Olentangy Local Schools that have a high level of student enrollment growth and must rely on local taxpayers for a majority of their operational funding can have more time to implement this unfunded mandate.
