The Book Fair will be open Monday, February 13th – Friday, February 17th.

Look for a “wish list” to come home with your students during that week, and they will have an opportunity to return to the fair to make their purchases. We are able to accept cash, check, or credit cards for payment. There will also be a space on the form where you can make a donation to the “One For Books” program. This program provides books to low-income schools, and increases our earnings at the same time. If you would prefer to view your student’s selections yourself, feel free to visit the fair anytime it is open, or you may also go to our webpage at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/olentangylms to shop an even larger selection, and make your purchases directly online. The orders will be shipped to the school and delivered to your student.

Congratulations to the 7th Grade Boys Basketball team for relentlessly grinding out a 51-42 win last night vs. Westerville Walnut Springs to advance to their tournament final four Thursday at 7:30 at Worthington Kilbourne Middle School.

The 8th grade girls continued their run in the tournament last night winning 45-27 against Worthington Kilbourne Middle School. The girls had very balanced scoring last night. Great job Ladies!! The lady warriors are back in action tomorrow night at 5pm against the #1 seed Pickerington. Good Luck Ladies!!

The 7th grade girls basketball team won their game against a physical Orange team yesterday in the second round of the Marysville tournament 30-21. The team advances to the semi-finals against Pickerington Lakeview on Thursday at 6:15pm. Balanced scoring and strong defense were the keys to victory!

Attention all parents and students! We have a wonderful opportunity to donate new or gently used books to Nationwide Childrens’ Hospital. The program is called Reach Out and Read (ROR) and for more information on ROR go to: http://www.reachoutandread.org/index.aspx
Bring in gently used or new books for children 6 months to 6th grade and drop them off in a box located by the attendance office. This is a great opportunity to pass on your favorite book to another child. Come on OLMS! Let’s show off our generosity by having every student donate at least one book! Attention 8th grade parents!

There is a freshman scheduling meeting at Liberty High School on February 1st at 7:00pm; attendance is optional. If your child has lost the scheduling handbook that was handed out at the meeting you can obtain one on-line at this link.  Or they can pick one up in the counselors’ office while supplies last.

Congrats to the team for a hard fought performance at the All Olentangy Duals Saturday. Good job guys! After season training starts Monday February 6th at the high school, 6:00 PM.

The 8th grade girls basketball team opened up their tourney this past Saturday defeating Gahanna West 53-22. The girls had incredibly balanced scoring with 5 girls scoring 8 points or more. The ladies played relentless defense and had their highest scoring output of the year. Congrats on the win ladies. The Warriors play in the second round of the tournament tomorrow at 5:00pm against Worthington Kilbourne. Go Liberty!!!

Congratulations to the 7th Grade Boys Basketball team on concluding a 14-0 regular season with a relentless 38-25 victory at Olentangy Shanahan last night.

The 7th grade girls basketball team closed out a successful 2011-2012 season with a strong 22-16 win over rival Shanahan MS. The team has continued to improve throughout the season and are now looking forward to the season ending Marysville tourney that starts Saturday. Everyone of the girls contributed to the team’s success!

Congratulations to the 7th Grade Boys Basketball team on a relentless team effort in defeating Marysville 49-17 in the home finale. The Warriors travel to Shanahan Thursday to finish the regular season.

The Olentangy Turf Committee, an organization of volunteer parents from Orange, Liberty and Olentangy High Schools is well into the process of raising the funds needed to place synthetic field turf at our three high schools by the fall 2012 school year. This private, volunteer effort is a great opportunity for our community to band together and provide support for this effort. How can you help? Congratulations to the 7th Grade Boys Basketball team on a comeback 35-34 win over Hyatts last night. The team’s relentless work ethic in practice by all 12 players contributed greatly to the victory.
